I’m Tracee Murphy, The Design Biz Therapist. I teach designers and companies in the home furnishing industry how to leverage psychology for a competitive edge.

Known in the industry as The Design Biz Therapist, Tracee Murphy has built a 25-year career at the intersection of psychology and interior design. With degrees in both fields, the Sarasota-based designer and educator has become a leading voice on how emotion shapes the way spaces are created – and how the people behind them thrive.

Through her platform, The Designer Launch, Murphy teaches what she calls the human side of design – a blend of behavioral science and business strategy that helps design professionals connect with clients, become stronger leaders and grow their business. Her workshops and keynote sessions explore the psychology of color, the emotional triggers behind buying decisions, mindful design principles, and how empathy and emotional intelligence can drive profitability and creative fulfillment.

For Murphy, design is far more than visual aesthetics – it’s a reflection of identity, emotion and connection. Her mission is to help designers elevate both their work and their wellbeing by understanding the psychology that fuels creativity and business success. When you grasp that connection, she says, everything about your business starts to click.

Tracee’s insights have been featured in LUXE Interiors + Design, Southern Living, House Beautiful, MarthaStewart.com, Florida Design and SRQ Magazine, and she’s a sought-after speaker at national design conferences, industry events and manufacturing summits.
